My daughter drew this amazing picture of a girl with big doe-like eyes, flowing brown hair and a sprinkling of freckles on her cheeks. I walked in the door from work and she was excited to show me another one of her creations. I thought, "oh, another drawing from my 9-year-old," but I was amazed when she told me about the girl in the drawing. "She has magic freckles, Mom." I asked how they worked and she said they light up and give the girl special powers to do and accomplish anything she wants.
Sometimes I wish I had magic freckles. I wish I could forever live in my daughter's world of innocence and make believe where goodness and kindness still reside.
